Warped Tour: Promotional Disc Case Study

Challenge

As one of the main sponsors of the Warped Tour, Sony wanted to create an interface that captured the spirit and energy of the event while still branding individual products featured on the disc.

Solution

LifeLike created a 3D model of a skateboard as the primary menu vehicle. The 3D modle works on a number of levels, first, the skateboard fits the image of the warped tour, and second, because it is a 3D model it ties into interactive gaming. As the skateboard spins around, different products are featured on the bottom of the skateboard. The interface also incorporates a video clip in the background of the menu. The video uses imagery of a highway speeding past in the background, creating a feeling of speed and energy which enlivens the interface.

Sony was able to create a custom piece, incorporated the feeling and energy of a specific event while still branding and promoting their own titles.
